Shouldn't worry: Be careful about using a sunscreen while the wound is open. As it closes a sunscreen will be useful to prevent the new tissue from overexposure.

I'M: NOT CERTAIN why you were told to avoid the sun unless you abraded a large area of skin....If so scabbing will develop after which sun exposure is harmless! PS USE A BLOCKER if you can! Hope this helps! Dr Z
