she has gone to many doctors but no one knows why. her ankles and hurt bad. they go down but after she walks around they swell again

Ankle pain swelling: Swelling at 69 can be venous insufficiency, may need support hose and a water pill to get the water off, if diabetic the ankle pain can be Charcot's joint, if recent infection can be post -infectious arthritis , need aleve (naproxen) if not allergic and no stomach ulcers. May also be clogged arteries in leg, and poor cardiac status. Need xrays , ankle brachial index, dopplers F/U w/doc

See below: There are a number of different causes of fluid retention in the lower extremities. Without knowing more information it's impossible to venture a guess.
