There are topical medications that can treat this condition. If left untreated, lichen sclerosus can lead to scarring, pain, itching and even possibly a skin cancer. It's a condition that needs early treatment and close followup.

Lichen sclerosis: A tapering dose of stoic ointment is usually successful. Make sure that you are using clobetasol ointment and not cream as ointment (petroleum-based) will not wash off. If not improved, i would seek out specialized treatment centers for vulvar disorders.
