See below: Is the inflammation the duodenum or ileum. Inflammation in the duodenum can be seen with peptic injury, various meds (NSAIDs), infections, stasis, celiac sprue, Crohn's disease, or be non-specific. Ileal inflammation can be seen with NSAIDs (ibuprofen), infection, or possibly Crohn's disease. Sprue and Crohn's carry a low risk of malignancy after several years as they are both chronic conditions.
