Extremely common.: Back pain is one of the most common symptoms leading people to see a physician. If is mild to moderate, see if a topical anesthetic (OTC), stretching, rest, and a bit of time will take care of it; if you can not tolerate the pain, perhaps try acetaminophen or ibuprofen OTC as long as you tolerate these meds. If severe or persistent, visit the doctor.
