Absolutely!: Missing pills and then trying to "catch up" can certainly throw off their effectiveness. You can test for pregnancy 11-14 days after when you think you conceived (ie the day of unprotected intercourse). If negative, you may need to find a birth control that fits your life better. Definitely speak with your doctor if you have issues remembering the pill, because we have lots of ways to help!
