A member asked:

Is stevia safe if you're trying to get pregnant? i read that it was once used as a contraceptive?

Yes: The history of Stevia leaf dates back several centuries. It has mainly been used for diabetes, GI tract regulation, an anti-infective, energy, etc. I have not found that contraception was among historical uses. It is a plant based sweetener and therefore is much safer than chemically-based sweeteners.
