Acyclovir and others: The only "antibiotics" that can help herpes are antiviral drugs like acyclovir, valacyclovir, or famciclovir. For a new infection, oral treatment is quite helpful. They are not very effective against recurrent outbreaks, and creams or ointments usually don't work at all. Onging oral treatment can help prevent outbreaks. Sulfadiazine won't help at all. See a doctor experienced in herpes. Good luck!
