"back to sleep": When it was established that putting an infant tummy side down increased the risk of SIDS, parents were told to put infants on their backs to sleep. Since an infant's skull is very malleable, it can cause flattening of the back of the skull. Give your baby plenty of tummy time while awake. As her brain grows and her sleep position varies, this flattening may get less apparent with time.
