when pressing on a certain spot on upper left chest i feel a jerk or pull below sternum, like it's connected. a little painful. what could this be?

Chest wall problem: this sounds like a problem with the rib or the muscles that connect the ribs and also connect to the sternum, such as a bruised rib, or an intercostal muscle strain. None of these are serious, and will likley resolve within a weeki.
