LMP: The fetal heartbeat usually appears around 6 weeks from the lmp. Six weeks after conception is considered 8 weeks by the system we use.

2 menstrual cycles: It is possible to get pregnant within a few weeks of a miscarriage before you have had your next period. I usually advise my patients to wait for a normal menstrual period. Usually the period after a miscarriage is abnormal, it can be early or late, very heavy or light. Wait until you have a normal period to let your body and hormones recover before trying for another pregnancy.

Yes: Most x-rays are actually safe even during pregnancy. The dose of radiation is normally small enough not to cause any problems for the fetus though shielding the belly is recommended when possible. The simplest thing to do while trying to conceive is make sure x-rays are done before ovulation so you don't have to worry.

A 43-year-old member asked:

What is the fetal fibronectin test?

2 doctor answers4 doctors weighed in
Dr. David Finke
Obstetrics and Gynecology 15 years experience
To rule out PTL.: Fetal fibronectin is a protein that is thought to be the "glue" connecting the baby's amniotic sac to the wall of the mom's uterus. In preterm labor, this glue breaks down and leaks out into the vagina. The fetal fibronectin test checks for the presence of this protein in the vagina. If the test is negative, preterm labor (ptl) is unlikely. If the test is positive, it doesn't mean much.
