Can you describe: The bump more? Something can itch when irritated or rubbed, so its important to figure out why there is a protrusion. Is it a soft tissue mass like a ganglion or is it actual protrusion of bone? Since, we can't see anything or feel it to examine it - I woud recommend you taking your kid in person to see someone.
