Conjuntivitis: Most cases of viral conjunctivitis have mild discharges if any. This heavy, purulent type of discharge may need to be cultured and treated with an antibacterial ophthalmic ointment along with warm compresses. An ophthalmologist is best qualified to evaluate,advise you and treat this condition.
