Common: Nausea, vomiting and bloating are not at all uncommon with periods. Progesterone can relax the smooth muscle in the bowel causing bloating and the prostaglandins released with the break down of the endometrium cause nausea, vomiting, and pain ( they can also cause diarrhea). The prostaglandin inhibitors (NSAIDS) and birth control pills can help. Hope this helps.
