Quit and ignore.: First, quit smoking, of course. Cold turkey would be best. Second, try your best to ignore and fight off your cravings, which in all actuality only last about 90 seconds. The more you fight them off, the more your brain will realize that you're not going to feed it nicotine, and the urges will lessen in frequency and intensity over time.

There are various: Ways, tricks, or medicines, and over the counter methods. “white knuckling” it is one way. As for the medication options, please discuss with your doctor or schedule a consult to discuss one of the treatment options that will work best for you. It’s not a one size fits all. There are patches and gum over the counter if you prefer to try that as well. Good luck!
