I've been experiencing low back pain that went to groin & it feels like my hip socket is grinding together. what could it be? no pain in leg.

Could be...: It could be coming from the back or it could be the hip itself. Possibilities: Arthritis, sciatica, muscle strain. For a final diagnosis you would need to see your doctor for further evaluation and exam.

Hip: Most painful conditions in the hip cause pain in the groin area, so I suspect it maybe an issue with the hip itself, which would go along with your complaints of a grinding sensation in the hip as well. The most common things we see are arthritic problems in the hip or an internal derangement of the hip such as a labral tear. An exam, X-ray, and possibly an MRI can likely determine the cause.
