Musculoskeletal : You may have pulled the SCM or another muscle attaching to the hyoid bone. Do you lift weights and does the pain improve with heat and ice packs? Try ibuprofen for muscle strain and if it doesn't get better over time, follow up with ENT. Also, due to your history of heart catherization, follow up with cardiology to rule out cardiovascular issues such as carotid arterial disease (carotid Doppler).
