Painful lump: Let's face it… somebody made a big hole in your abdomen lol. The healing time for people and very but typically i tell patients that you'll know that you've been cut for at least six months to a year. The fact that you have a localized lump raises the possibility of 1. A hernia 2. A suture granuloma-google it 3. Endometriosis in the scar-watch and see if the pain comes and goes. I hope this helps.

Delayed infection: Or bleeding are possibilities. Incisional hernia not likely if it is a transverse incision. Your obstetrician should be able to tell you for sure.
