A member asked:

Can you get an iud placed when you aren't on your period? i came off bc pills & had irregular periods before bc. i don't know when my next period is.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: It is slightly easier to insert an IUD when you are either menstruating or ovulating. It is also very important to the physician that you are not pregnant at the time of insertion, which is why we like to do it when you're on your period. However, it is possible to insert it any time of your cycle.
