No: You must report this problem to the surgeon who performed your procedure and if he/she isn't helpful you must consult a urologist. There may only be watery accumulation in the scrotum rather than true swelling of the testicles, but nevertheless you require an evaluation and diagnosis as well as advice regarding management.

Her are some...: Swelling in the sac - not testicle - after inguinal hernia repair is common and may last weeks or even months; that is okay as long as getting smaller and smaller with lesser pain and ache day by day and week by week. Of course, occasionally inadvertent injury to testicular artery may happen but extremely rare at experienced hands. More? Ask the surgeon for individual detail. Best wishes...

Not normal: This may well be a surgical complication, possibly the reconstructed external inguinal ring, thru which pass testicular blood vessels & vas, is now too narrow. Lymph flow &/or venous return may now be obstructed. Swelling is either due to edema or a hydrocele. Your surgeon is obliged to see you gratis as UR within 3 month global following surgery. See urologist if surgeon can't help you. Good Luck
