What might be the cause of having a tight, anxious feeling in my stomach when i awaken and sometimes in the daytime. are there any otc meds for this?

Most likely anxiety: Brief medical history suggests symptoms are related to anxiety. Before taking over the counter meds suggest talking about treatment options (especially if you have been on lorazepam long term) and ruling out other physical causes of anxiety/stomach tightness with your provider. If anxiety is the source, would recommend referral for behavioral therapy or psychiatrist for more in depth treatment.
