Type 2 diabetes: Is the most common type of diabetes worldwide. It is directly related to obesity, and also runs in families. It is caused by the body becoming resistant to insulin as well as failure of the pancreas to keep up with the need to make more insulin. Diet, exercise, and weight loss are the cornerstone of treatment. There are dozens of medications available that also help treat the disorder.
