Phlebitis: Inflammation of the vein is referred to as phlebitis and clot formation in the vein is thrombophlebitis, which can be superficial or deep (DVT). IV insertion can be a cause of your symptoms of pain at the vein site. If there is redness in the surrounding area, it should be immediately treated with antibiotics etc. Pl have your doctor examine it for definitive diagnosis and treatment as indicated:)

Yes: The vein could have traumatized during blood drawing and became a problem for subsequent blood drawing accounting for the discomfort. In time this vein may be suitable for use,however the scarring may be permanent preventing future blood drawing.

Phelebitis: The pain in the site of iv stick more than expected and prolongs more may be sign of local inflammation or infection in the vein. Yes veins get sclerosis with repeated use for iv sticks and infusions

Yes: Is it still painful? It many times may be scarred but it is not serious. It may recannulate. . The body may regenerate new vessels so there is little to worry about . See your doctor for further information. Best wishes.
