Yes: Not all bleeding is your period. This could be implantation sight bleeding. You can certainly test now, but if negative I would repeat in a few days

Time and technique: If you are more than 5 days past the expected date of your period, so a pregnancy test. If the result is negative, repeat the test in 4-5 days. Use first morning urine and follow the instructions for the test carefully. If you do not wish to be pregnant, use contraception all the time, every time. You may consider implanted contraceptive, or IUD. Practice safe sex. Get HPV vaccine.
