Breast milk!!!: Far and away the best food for a 6 mo. old is breast milk, which can provide virtually all nutrient needs & is what nature intended. If you're no longer breastfeeding use formula but I strongly advise organic formula. This is a good time to introduce solid foods as pureed organic vegetables like squash, zucchini & peas. Pureed berries OK. Avoid sweet fruits & grains to reduce craving for sweets.
