Yes: This is an unusual side effects from Singulair (montelukast). However there are option such as nasal steroid, nasal antihistamine which may work better. If all else fails , consider seeing an allergist for allergy shots which have shown to be highly effective and often providing long-lasting benefits after several years of treatment. Avoidance measures may also be needed after the allergens have been ID.

Allergy Meds: Singulair (montelukast) is actually not a very good medicine for treating allergies. If you have allergic asthma then maybe, but not for allergies alone. Instead try daily intranasal steroid sprays (Flonase, Nasacort OTC). Avoidance measure also helpful. Need to see Allergist for skin testing to determine sensitivities. Saline rinses also helpful with daily oral antihistamine.
