A member asked:

My daughter got the nexplanon implant inserted in november 2019. she has been on her period everyday for the last 5 weeks. is there anything she can take to stop the bleeding?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Nexplanon inplant ?: Nexplanon is a progesterone analog, and can interfere unpredictably with ovulation, which will delay a normal post-ovulatory period. Persistent bleeding "for five weeks" is not generally associated with Nexplanon inserts, do if pregnancy is possible, obtain a serum HCG test to be certain. Then see a gyn physician for an exam.
