Yes, initially : The H. Pylori blood test is >90% sensitive and specific for H. Pylori infection in the past. It is best used to diagnose the early/initial stages of infection. The only limitation is that the blood test remains positive for quite a while after successful treatment for H. Pylori, so it should not be used as a marker for eradication.
