I've had flu like symptoms for four weeks, and now I have developed a cough that hurts chest, has mucus and feels very dry in the throat. What is it?
What causes wet and dry cough, thick mucus production (both clear and green), slight tightness in lungs, and fatigue? Have had these symptoms for about 5 weeks. Started off as URI, but some symptoms are still lingering?

Cough for almost 2 months now. saw 2 doctors for it about month ago - told lungs sound clear. had a chest xray & CT scan of chest (~2 wks ago)- came back clear w/ "perfect lungs". cough dry w/ very little clear mucus. taking mucinex DM - helps.
