2 more specialists: You should see 2 more specialists for evaluation. The Prosthodontist and the Oral Surgeon. Best if you can find 2 who work together frequently and work with your Orthodontist. Good Luck.

See OFP specialist: Possible TMJ syndrome. The Orofacial Pain specialists provide diagnosis and management of pain in the head, face and temporomandibular joints (TMJ). They have trained 2-3 additional years after completing dental school in. They are the experts in this field. Look for OFP specialist near you.

No such specialty as OFP. It's an area of concentration requesting part-time study, not a specialty requiring full time supervised residency training. That said, your question suggests that seeing a Dentist with OFP training may be helpful.

Dear Dr. Arnold Malerman, FYI Orofacial Pain is recognized specialty by the ABDS since May, 2015. So OFP practitioner is a specialist like perio, ortho or endo. Here is CODA approved UCLA 2 years program: https://www.dentistry.ucla.edu/learning/orofacial-pain-dysfunction-0.

Qualified: Braces alone will not resolve facial asymmetry. You describe a set of problems that suggests that you need the help of Specialists including an Orthodontist (not a General Dentist who does braces part time), an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon, and a Dentist with additional training in managing TMJ Dysfunction.

Many possibilities: You cold have a simple viral infection. You could have a sifnificant bacterial infection, you could have a rare fungal infection. Generally the lymph nodes in the neck will swell with viral and bacterial infections. You describe a classic viral infection. Strep throat is not usually associated with runny nose. If there is fever, difficulty swallowing or you believe you are too ill, see pcp.

My 11 month old son was diagnosed with an ear infection 2 days ago and was prescribed amoxicilin today I notice a rash on his face is this an allergic reaction?

Possibly: Amoxicillin is a great for an ear infection. Yet, some people have allergies to penicillin. However, what makes this hard to answer is sometimes agents that cause ear infections can cause a rash too! if it is only a light red rash and he has no other signs of something bothering him, you can watch to see if it goes away. But if any sores are in his mouth or a high fever he must be seen right away.
