Recently read online that we need to wash dry spaghetti like veggies before cooking it as there will be some chemical residue in packing,is it true??

No: I was able to find the source of this urban legend. The outer surface of each strand of pasta has a little bit of starch on it that's not combined into the strand. This rubs off -- try it. People have seen this and thought it was a "dangerous chemical". Relax and enjoy your pasta.
