May be hypothyroid: Hypothyrooidism is a common condition that often causes hair loss (hyperthyroidism may cause too but less commonly). Unfortunately many docs don't diagnose it properly, thinking someone is normal unless their TSH is 4.5 or higher when most who are hypothyroid have "normal" TSH's. A holistic/integrative doc will do more exhaustive tests. See http://tinyurl.com/koyamo5 and http://tinyurl.com/pxz8mkd
