Shouldn't B pbm: These anesthetics are well tolerated by baby & have little effect on them after birth. Most obstetricians like to have baby out within 15 minutes of putting you to sleep to limit their exposure to the inhaled medication. Longer times are linked with a less responsive baby at birth, but the medication is blown off by the lungs & doesn't stick around to cause problems.
