A member asked:

What would be an indication of thyroid issue and dangers of not treating?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: Is it an underactive or an overactive thyroid? Overactive thyroid can cause more severe acute problems, including severe hypertension, rapid heart beat and potentially heart failure. Underactive thyroid over time, if becomes severe can cause cramping, muscle problems, breathing problems and low heart rate, on top of progressive fatigue and constipation.
