We have many: The fight to cure cancer has 3 separate strategies: prevention, early detection, &treatment. The most effective cancer test identifies those at highest risk--we have such tests for some cancers via genetic testing (www.Myriad.Com). Early detection involves screening tests for the most common cancers (mammograms, colonoscopy, pap smears, etc). Please ask your dr. For guidelines appropriate for you.

Probably not: There are thousands of kinds of cancer and it is unlikely that there will be a single test that will be able to detect them all. There will be new tests that will help identify a person's individual risk for specific types of cancer so that screening can be tailored. There will also be newer tests for earlier detection of specific cancer types.
