Panic attacks: No positive effects anybody wants to have.

Probably not: The individual sufferer may not benefit, unless the panic attack = a type of cardiovascular workout! in the evolutionary scheme of things, some have wondered whether having a few members of the monkey troop who were more sensitive to danger might be good for the population. Sentries could warn about lurking predators, saving lives. Genetic heirs of such individuals could be ones w/panic.

No: None that i can think of. The heart doesn't benefit from a panic attack and is also not injurred from panic attacks.
