In 2013 not harmful: It is presently thought that the administration of a stimulant medication does not cause short term or long term adverse effects in terms of health. There remain unanswered questions that the research community is still trying to unlock presently and so to say that there are no long term effects at all may not be entirely true. At the present, when used appropriately they are safe.
