A member asked:

Can having a case of alcoholic hepatitis give a false positive for hepatitis b?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not really: There are false positives for any test, including hepatitis b, although alcohol doesn't increase this risk. It is important to get follow up tests of the hbv to make sure you are truly not infected. If not, consider getting vaccinated.
