A member asked:

Why would pancreatic cancer be so hard to detect and treat than say the other cancers?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Because of its: Anatomical location, deep inside and high and to the back of the abdomen, area called retroperitoneum. It also does not cause specific or localized symptoms, such as bleeding or change in appearance. Even in advanced stages it is difficult to find, short of ct, mr, or ultrashound.
