Consult with ENT: There are two common indications for having a tonsillectomy: recurrent infections and airway obstruction. The goal of surgery would be to either decrease the frequency of infections or improve the airway. The recovery from the surgery is mostly related to throat pain. Management of this is the most significant issue after the surgery. Bleeding may occur after the surgery in a small percent.
