Mucoceles: These sound like benign interruptions of the ducts on minor salivary glands that are common throughout your mouth. Of course your best bet is to get it evaluated by a dentist to be sure but your description sounds like these. They are often smaller than those in this image..

Harmless mucocele: Usually they're not a problem and will go away on their own. If concerned see your dentist for examination and removal if needed.
