Rash: Without seeing it, it is difficult to know for sure but things that can cause prolonged localized itching:Eczema/atopic dermatitis (usually in more than one spot and would generally have a history).Ring worm a fungal infection (would explain why the lotrimin (clotrimazole) seems to help. Contact dermatitis (could range from anything from sensitivity to soap to a poison-ivy type exposure). See your doc for exam
