Pain!: Ovulation involves a small cyst on the ovary called a follicle. It is very active hormonally and requires a large blood supply. Sometimes something goes wrong and a blood vessel breaks causing bleeding into the follicle that expands with blood and forms a hemorrhagic cyst on the ovary. The most common symptom is pain on one side of your lower abdomen. Best wishes!
