Syncope vs vertigo : If you totally lose consciousness, it is called syncope. If you lose partial or have altered consciousness, it could be caused by a number of things. Make an appointment with a neurologist ASAP to be evaluated and treated. Have someone else drive for you or take a taxi till you are cleared to drive safely.
