Yes: IUDs are very reliable but no method of contraception is 100% effective. The progestin containing IUDs like Mirena (levonorgestrel) and Skyla can cause you to miss periods as can many things other than pregnancy but, if your period is late, do a pregnancy test and, if it is negative and your period still hasn't started, repeat it in 3-5 days to know for sure.
