Pleurisy: The cold virus gave you a pleurisy. A condition called pleuritis or pleurisy is inflammation of the pleura (lining between the lung and the chest wall). It can be quite painful and worse with taking deep breaths as the lining rubs together. Anti-inflammatory medication can help relieve the pain, but sometimes it takes a while.
