A member asked:

I had an mri. the interpretation on the report said. a single minimal area of increased singnal intensity is identified within the anterior aspect of the right insular cortex on the t2 weighted and flair sequencs. several mucosal thickening is identified

Brain MR: It is difficult to answer your question without looking at the entire MRI. Increased signal intensity on T2 and FLAIR means that there is a bright region within the right insular cortex, which usually means there is either fluid or less commonly blood product in this region, but this is nonspecific without knowing the findings on the rest of your MRI. Mucosal thickening=sinus walls inflamed.
