A member asked:

Are hcg levels measured from last menstrual period or from date of conception?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Neither: HCG is a hormone and is measured like a chemical. A level below 5 is not consistent with pregnancy and level above 25 indicates pregnancy. In-between these two values warrants repeating the test in a week or so. See this site for more info. http://americanpregnancy.org/while-pregnant/hcg-levels/
