A member asked:

I got a ultrasound on my neck (thyroid gland) & was told that it's enlarged & i need to see a specialist asap. diagnosed w graves' disease? wht 2 exp?

Grave's: ASAP is not really necessary but it would be a good idea to go soon. An enlarged thyroid could be treated with radio-active iodine or with thyroid surgery. The specialist will explain both to you and you should (?must) follow his/her advice. Not generally a major event and if the thyroid levels are low post treatment you will be prescribed thyroid replacement.
