Sinus tachycardia: Inappropriate sinus tachycardia (IST) is a syndrome characterized by excessive resting heart rate or disproportional increase in heart rate during exercise. Metoprolol and ivabradine a new drug which effects the sinus node exert similar effects on resting heart rate but ivabradine is more effective in relieving symptoms during exercise or daily activity.
